1970's Home Reno

THE SUNROOM

This light filled haven began as an addition the home decades ago.  We ripped out the carpet and had a white wood laminate installed. We made the modern sectional and added hinges so it lifts up for storage. We painted the room white, added string lights and a huge rug. The rug is from Sam's Club and it was only $100. It's an outdoor rug so we can easily hose it off when it's dirty...which is all the time because the dogs come in and out through this room all day. I made the small coffee table but I haven't finished it yet.

THE front room

I would say this is my favorite room in the house but I honestly don't know anymore. Now that everything is coming together, I'm loving each room all so much...which is a good thing I guess! This room has 3 floor-to-ceiling windows that we painted black. We replaced the flooring with a dark wood laminate

- because...DOG HAIR- and we painted the walls the shade Mineral [by Behr]. We plan to add recessed lighting and since these photos, we have switched up the design a bit and changed the light fixture so stay turned for updated photos!

THE LIVING ROOM

This room gives me all the feels! The original built ins are my favorite part. They have SO much storage #yarnfordays. We went with white on the walls and a two-toned look for the built ins. I don't love the beige sofa but with dog hair, we couldn't have white and of course gray was super pricey. Yes I know the protruding flat screen TV is an eyesore but men love that swivel option so it is what it is. The ottoman was another compromise with the husband. Of course I'd prefer a nice hunk of wood with hairpin legs but I have to admit this was an amazing purchase from Amazon. The cushions reverse to serve as removable trays and theres tons of storage inside.  The white brick gas fireplace gets used on the daily, even in the summer because I'm always cold. The rug is from Walmart.com [not kidding] and was $100. I am selling the tapestry above the sofa. Now I get to figure out what to put there!
